Signal Vine Adds Quick Messaging Tool, Improved Support

Signal Vine, a text messaging tool designed to help higher ed institutions improve student recruitment and retention, has been updated to make it easier to communicate with groups and improve user support.

Signal Vine allows schools to communicate through two-way personalized text messages that are sent to students based on data such as GPA, major, FAFSA status and more. Users can schedule messages in a calendar, use automatic replies based on machine learning or respond to students personally.

With the new update the company has added a "quick message" feature designed to save time and make it easier to send personalized messages to selected students or other groups. The new feature allows users "to send or schedule texts to your entire program, one or more groups, or selected students," according to information from the company. "Pull in participant profile data to take your text messages to the next level. A button is available on every screen to help you easily send a text to one student, or many, with personalization.

The other new feature is the "signal support center," which features video guides, tutorials and answers to frequently asked questions.

"With a nationwide counselor-to-student ratio of one to 450, institutions must invest in technology solutions that help them build real relationships with students. Now more than ever, texting is that solution," said Signal Vine CEO Brian Kathman in a prepared statement. "By adding Quick Message and the Signal Support Center to the Signal Vine platform, our higher ed partners have even more tools to elevate their student support and engagement efforts."
