UT Austin Streamlines Financial Aid Process for Students

The University of Texas at Austin is making it easier for students to apply for and receive financial aid. The institution moved from a homegrown financial aid to Oracle's Student Financial Planning solution, part of the Oracle Student Cloud, in order to automate financial aid activities and provide a better experience for students and administrators, according to a news announcement.

Oracle Student Financial Planning provides financial aid applicants with step-by-step guidance and provides a personalized view of funding options to help students get the right financial aid for their needs. The technology automates 90% of the financial aid process, from determining eligibility, packaging and awarding aid, to disbursements and reporting, the company said. It also provides administrators with real-time eligibility insights to help them guide students and provide individualized support.  

"As an institution founded to advance the public good, UT Austin is deeply committed to making higher education accessible to all students who are academically qualified, regardless of their financial means to support social mobility," said Brian Dixon, vice provost of enrollment management at UT Austin, in a statement. "Working alongside Oracle, we are committed to delivering an exceptional financial aid experience to our students and prospects throughout their academic journey."
