Endicott College, a small four-year college north of Boston, recently deployed the Extron NAV AVoIP system to power a new interactive learning environment. Already an Extron audio visual (AV) switching system customer, Endicott's new system streamlines communication and collaboration, according to a news announcement.

The system allows students to connect their personal devices and use a local display, Extron said. Students can share within their groups and with all displays in the classroom.

The college teamed up with Integrated Multimedia Solutions for the design and installation of the system. "This was our first NAV system project, but it won't be our last," said Bob Morin, design and sales technician at the company. "The installation and commissioning went perfectly smoothly and took place in record time."

With furniture and cabling in place, the installation took three days over winter break. The new system accommodates up to 48 end points, consisting of small collaboration groups. System management, configuration, and troubleshooting are browser-based. The instructor station includes a monitor, PC, keyboard, mouse, AV connectivity, and intuitive system control.
