In the latest Educause Technology Leadership Workforce survey, 75% of tech leaders reported excessive workloads, up from 70% in 2024, and only 16% said their department is adequately staffed. All the while, evolving AI technologies are piling on security and compliance concerns, while offering efficiencies that could save the day — provided staffers can find the time to upskill. The truth is, IT teams can no longer afford to live in silos, focused on one particular skillset.
