BenQ Debuts DLP Projectors

BenQ has introduced two new DLP projectors, the SP830 and SP831, both of which offer high light output and WXGA resolution.

The forthcoming SP830 and SP831 projectors offer a resolution of 1280 x 768 (WXGA) and a contrast ratio of 2,000:1. The SP830 model produces light output of 3,500 ANSO lumens, while the SP831 offers a brightness of 4,000 ANSI lumens. Both use DLP technology from Texas Instruments, and both include 2D keystone correction.

In addition, both projectors accept multiple video sources for split-screen presentations and include HQV processing to enhance image quality for both standard-def and high-def video. Other features include:

  • Zoom control for focusing on specific potions of the displayed image;
  • Deinterlacing, noise reduction, and scaling through the HQV processor;
  • Integration of TI's BrilliantColor technology; and
  • An offline cooling function.Both models include support for DVI-I (with HDCP), component, composite, and S-video. BenQ has not provided specific pricing or shipping information, ut the two models are expected to be available soon for lees than $3,000 for the SP830 and less than $4,000 for the SP831.
