Emporia State Names Chief Information Officer

Emporia State University, whose slogan is "The Center of IT All," has named a new IT chief: Leon Lewis.

Lewis was named associate vice president for technology and computing services and chief information officer of the Emporia, Kansas, school. He was previously associate CIO at North Carolina Central University and director of operations at Fayetteville State University.

Lewis, who is finishing a doctorate degree at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, said one of his goals he's set is to help make ESU more focused on customer service. To do that, he said he plans to expand help desk hours to provide more help for the students.
