MS Kicks Off 'Ultimate Steal' for Students

Microsoft has launched a new education promotion for students, enabling them to purchase Office Ultimate 2007 electronically for $59.95. The deal will run through April 2008.

Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 includes Word 2007, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, Outlook 2007 with Business Contact Manager, Access 2007, Publisher 2007, OneNote 2007, Groove 2007, and InfoPath 2007. Through the Ultimate Steal promotion, students can download the trial version of the software through a special URL (below), which will verify their student status. Once verified, the students download the trial edition of Office 2007 and then purchase the student license electronically.

The Ultimate Steal is open now in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. (The program was piloted in Australia earlier this year.) It will also be available Sept. 20 in France, Italy, and Spain.
