Raritan Valley CC To Deploy Hybrid Surveillance Cameras

Raritan Valley Community College in New Jersey will be deploying a campus-wide video security system from Visual Management Systems. As part of the $100,000 agreement, VMS will be installing a network of 50 IP cameras.

VMS hybrid digital video recorders will allow the school to continue using its existing analog infrastructure as it implements the IP camera system. The installation will encompass a number of buildings at the college, as well as principal campus exit and entrance points.

"It is an educational institution's responsibility to provide its students, faculty, administration and guests with a safe and productive learning environment," said Lester Miller, executive director of business services at the college. "To facilitate this goal, we conducted a comprehensive bid evaluation of potential video surveillance providers. With its experience, product offering, and vision, VMS emerged as the ideal partner for Raritan Valley Community College."

The school has 6,500 for-credit students and 13,000 people in professional and personal development programs. The campus is 240 acres.
