China's Higher Ed Press Chooses Manuscript Central for Online Journal Management

China's
Higher Education Press (HEP) has chosen Thomson Reuters'
Manuscript Central for the online journal management of "Frontiers of Computer Science in China," a series of journals initiated and supported by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.
Manuscript Central provides functionality for journal submission, peer review, tracking, and editing-process control. The system is integrated with other Thomson Reuters products including:
ISI Web of Knowledge, a research platform consisting of journals, patent data, conference proceedings, and other resources;
EndNote Web, an author writing and submission tool; and
Web of Science, a citation resource that allows reviewers and editors to check manuscript references and search for new reviewers in the same specialty as the manuscript.
"We need an industry-proven professional system that is stable and user- friendly, so that we can offer all authors, reviewers and editors the most reliable platform to attract more of their international peers to work with them," said Ding Haijia, deputy director of Academic Publishing Centre, HEP. "Manuscript Central is the system that can satisfy our requirements very well and enable us to be part of the modern publishing world."
Thomson Reuters recently launched ISI Web of Knowledge and EndNote Web in Simplified Chinese globally. The company plans to launch a Simplified Chinese version of Manuscript Central in February 2009 to help science researchers in China improve their published output and engagement with a wider audience.
