Go2 Launches Mobile Entertainment Guides for 473 Colleges

Go2 Media has launched go2 Colleges, a free mobile entertainment guide for college students. The service gives users access to local events, movie showtimes, college sports scores, and recommendations from the Go2 Content Network. The guides are available for 473 colleges through AT&T MediaNET and will shortly be available for Virgin Mobile/Helio and Sprint Nextel subscribers.

Each college has a unique portal on the service, where students can check constantly updated local events, including movies, concerts, and school sporting events or access a directory of restaurants and bars close to campus. The guides also feature a March Madness section, allowing students to get previews, live scores, and re-caps of every game in the NCAA college basketball tournament.

"As end-users depend on mobile devices to be more than just a phone, we see dynamic, timely local content as a growing area of user interest," said Dan Smith, president of go2 Media. "go2 Colleges is a great example of designing a mobile experience around a specific location, so that users can find information that is highly relevant to them."

go2 Colleges content is provided by the go2 editorial network, Sporting News, and ZVents.
