Christie Shows Off High-Light-Output HD Projectors

At the InfoComm 2009 show in Orlando, FL, Christie Digital Systems debuted two new high-light-output projectors using single-chip DLP technology, including one that blasts out 7,500 ANSI lumens.

The new models include the DHD700 and the DS+750, both positioned as more affordable but still high-performing alternatives to three-chip DLP systems. The The DHD700 offers a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 (1080p), with a brightness of 6,500 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 7,500:1. The DS+750, meanwhile, sports a resolution of 1,400 x 1,050 (SXGA+), a brightness of 7,500 ANSI lumens, and a contrast ratio of 7,500:1.

Both models include:

  • Digital keystone correction (±30 degrees horizontal and vertical)
  • 10-bit image processing;
  • Dynamic Black technology;
  • Picture in picture;
  • A user-changeable Rich-Color color wheel for swapping out color wheels, depending on the needs of a given presentation;
  • Dual 330W Philips VIDI UHP lamps(2,000-hour lamp life in normal mode, 2,500 hours in economy mode); and
  • Built-in color matching and edge-blending.

Inputs include HDMI, DVI-D, mini D-Sub 15-pin, BNC, and S-video. There are two open card slots for additional inputs.

Both of the new models are expected to roll out in July. There are six lenses available for each of them: Fixed Lens SXGA+ 0.87:1, Short Zoom SXGA+ 1.30-1.63:1, Short Zoom SXGA+ 1.62-1.95:1, Standard Zoom SXGA+ 1.95-3.08:1, Long Zoom SXGA+ 3.03:5.50:1, and Ultra Long Zoom SXGA+ 5.21-8.63:1.
