Datatel has tweaked its higher education recruiting tool, Datatel Recruiter, to bolster its ability to work with Twitter. The application, which is part of Datatel's constituent relationship management suite, now tracks and captures pre-defined search terms in Twitter to uncover conversations about the institution and allow the admissions professional to participate in the discussion.
The "tweets" are automatically analyzed for effectiveness and reach of the conversation. The data can also be applied to a student's probability or desirability metric. If the student's information is not yet in Datatel Recruiter, the foundation of a new potential prospect file is built. Admissions professionals can also tweet a response directly from Datatel Recruiter.
The user can access Datatel Recruiter from any Web-enabled device to update or create campaigns, qualify or assign prospects, analyze responses and campaign return on investment, and send an e-mail message through Microsoft Outlook.
