Epson Debuts 6 LCD Projectors for Education

Epson's new PowerLite Pro models offer high light output for larger educational venues.

Epson has unveiled six LCD projectors for use in medium to large education venues. The new projectors, which debuted last week, are part of the PowerLite Pro and PowerLite 4000 series.

New projectors in the Power Light Pro series--the PowerLite Pro G5550NL, the PowerLite Pro G5650WNL, and the PowerLite Pro G5950NL--offer a multiple PC projection feature that uses a four-way split screen to project video and images from up to four networked computers.

The PowerLite Pro G5550NL and the PowerLite Pro G5950NL feature native resolutions of 1,024 x 768, while the PowerLite Pro G5650WNL ships with a resolution of 1,280 x 800. The G5950NL offers a brightness of 5,200 lumens, while the G5550NL and the G5650WNL offer a brightness of 4,500 lumens.

Other features of the PowerLite Pro series projectors include Crestron Room Veiw compatibility and Epson Easy Management, a software tool that enables maintenance scheduling, network monitoring, and e-mail alerts over a local area network.

Projectors introduced as part of the PowerLite 4000 series include the PowerLite 4100, the PowerLite 4200W, and the PowerLite 4300. The PowerLite 4200W ships with a native resolution of 1,280 x 800 and a brightness of 4,500 lumens. The PowerLite 4300 features a native resolution of 1,024 x 768 and a brightness of 5,200 lumens, while the PowerLite 4100 offers a native resolution of 1,024 x 768 and a brightness of 4,500 lumens.

All of the PowerLite 4000 series projectors feature quick corner image positioning, a 1.8x zoom lens, and an off-axis tilt function.

Both projector series ship with Epson EasyMP Management, a six-axis color adjustment, and a DICOM feature that uses a standardized grayscale to reproduce medical images for training purposes.

The PowerLite Pro G5650WNL, the PowerLite Pro G5950NL, the PowerLite 4100, and the PowerLite 4300 are scheduled to ship in November for $3,599, $3,599, $2,399, and $2,999 respectively. The PowerLite Pro G5550NL will be available in January 2011 for $3,149, and the PowerLite 4200W will be available the same month for $2,689.
