Join.me Adds Presenter Swap, Desktop App

LogMeIn has updated its screen sharing service, join.me, with new collaborative features and a new desktop app.

Join.me is an online screen sharing service that doesn't require registration and is available as a free or premium service. The free version features 256-bit SSL encryption and allows users to share their screen with up to 250 people, share control of the meeting with other users, share multiple monitors, chat, send files to any participant, and view meetings with an iOS or Android device.

In addition to the features of the free version, join.me pro users have access to a meeting scheduler, a lock that makes meetings available by invitation only, international conference lines, multiple user management, and the ability to add a personal link and background to the join.me homepage and waiting screen.

The new app, available for both versions, allows users to share their screen or view someone else's with one click. Presenter swap, also new to this version, allows join.me pro users to hand control of a meeting to any participant on a PC or Mac.

The premium version of join.me is available for a 14-day free trial and costs $19 per month or $149 per year. More information is available at join.me.
