Ebrary Adds Science And Technology ebook Subscriptions

More than 1,000 science and technology titles from Elsevier Science & Technology Books will be made available in e-book format for subscribers from ebrary through its Academic Complete subscription database.
The new acquisitions join an existing database of more than 78,000 titles available with multi-user access.
Titles among the new acquisitions cover topics including:
- Mechanical engineering;
- Chemical and process engineering;
- Civil engineering;
- Environmental energy; and
- Alternative energy.
A provider of information services and products covering the technical, scientific and medical fields, Amsterdam-based Elsevier has worked with a number of groups and organizations to publish more than 2,000 journals such as The Lancet medical journal and Cell, a biweekly publication of research articles and nearly 20,000 book titles. The company currently distributes more than 12,500 e-books through existing ebrary distribution networks such as subscription, short-term loan, and other models.

A ProQuest business, Palo Alto, CA-based ebrary was founded in 1999 and delivers products through a number of different models that include subscription, short-term loan, patron-driven acquisition, and perpetual archive.
