Videoconferencing Platform Aims to Deliver Face-to-Face Experience

Watchitoo introduced its new solution ClassInteract today at Pearson's CITE 2013 users conference taking place this week in Chicago.

ClassInteract, a videoconferencing platform, is designed to provide distance learning students with a live classroom experience. The solution supports face-to-face video chat with up to 25 students and "thousands more as viewing participants," according to a statement released today by the company.

Delivered through a software-as-a-service model, ClassInteract comes with a number of features, including LMS integration, polling, chat, file sharing, and analytics. Users can also break off from the main conversation into smaller subgroups for private video chats. Instructors can store and share learning materials and record and archive sessions for on-demand viewing.

Institutions offering distance learning courses "need the ability to bring students together in an authentic face-to-face experience," said Rony Zarom, CEO at Watchitoo, in the prepared statement. "Watchitoo can provide face-to-face synchronous experiences that can scale from a small class to massive synchronous online courses."

ClassInteract is available in a number of languages, including English, Chinese, Japanese, Portuguese, Spanish and Hebrew.

Watchitoo will co-host a session, Yale Closes the Distance Learning Gap with Face-to-Face Interactive Courses, with Pearson Thursday at the conference. The company has integrated its solution into Pearson's Learning Studio Platform.

More information is available at the company's Web site.
