University of Tennessee Inks New e-Procurement Contract

The University of Tennessee has completed a new procurement deal intended to streamline the institution's online procurement processes.

The school chose ESM Solutions to help improve these administrative processes, in hopes that implementation of the company's integrated suite of sourcing, purchasing and contract management applications will enable the institution to control costs, manage spend, and develop "a user-friendly procure-to-pay solution," according to a release.

"ESM Solutions will provide the University of Tennessee with a complete procurement solution, from bid creation and supplier registration to contract management and financial system integration," said Mark Paganelli, executive director at the University of Tennessee, in a release. "The robust system will support our sourcing and purchasing transaction processes for purchase orders and p-cards, as well as for electronic bids and invoices."

The ESM procurement applications will integrate with the university's current SAP finance system, one of several varied systems the solution is capable of integrating with, including Banner and Colleague from Ellucian, PeopleSoft, and Oracle, according to the ESM Web site.

The University of Tennessee procurement contract highlights the end of a busy month for ESM Solutions, a month in which the company also finalized contracts for implementation at Hawai'i Pacific University, University of Akron, and the Ivy Tech Community College System of Indiana, according to the company Web site.
