Ellucian Mobile Adds iOS 7 Compatibility Improves Support for SQL Server and Oracle Databases

Ellucian has updated its mobile campus app development platform, Ellucian Mobile. The company revealed the update at the Educause 2013 conference, taking place this week in Anaheim, CA.

Ellucian Mobile is a development platform that allows colleges and universities to create mobile apps that integrate with Banner, Colleague, and PowerCampus systems. It offers multimedia messaging, analytics, support for third-party tools, and Web-based administration.

The new version adds support for Apple's iOS 7 mobile operating system and also improves support for Android and iOS-based tablets, according to Ellucian.

Other new improvements include:

  • Enhanced support for Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle databases;
  • Improved performance;
  • Various enhancements to the UI, such as landscape orientation, the ability to open Web module links in an external browser, and other improvements; and
  • Support for full right-to-left Arabic.

Ellucian Mobile is currently in use by more than 600 institutions worldwide, according to the company. The updated version is available now and is being exhibited at Educause this week in booth 501. Additional details can be found on Ellucian's site.
