Villanova U Launches Business Process Management Online Program

Villanova University has launched a new Master Certificate in Business Process Management, a three-course program that can be completed entirely online.

Business process management (BPM) is about improving an organization's business processes to reduce costs and increase revenue. Business analysis is one type of BPM that focuses on aligning business processes with information technology to improve the flow of information within a company.

Villanova's Master Certificate in BPM program consists of three video-based courses:

  • Essentials of Business Process Management;
  • Mastering Process Methodology and Solutions; and
  • Advanced Process Strategy and Practices.

Professors lead the live, online courses, and students log in at the same time to participate in the class, including whiteboard discussions. Students who can't attend the courses at the scheduled time have the option of accessing recorded lectures at any time through their computer or mobile device. Students who successfully complete the three courses, project, and final exam become a Certified Professional in Business Process Management (CPBPM), certified by Villanova University.

According to the university, the certification prepares graduates for industry-recognized certifications, including Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification offered by Villanova University; the PMP or CAPM certification offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI); and certification by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA).

Villanova University is a private university located in Pennsylvania. It is part of the University Alliance (UA), an organization that facilitates the promotion and online delivery of associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees, as well as professional certificate programs, from traditional universities and institutions.
