PESA Intros Compact Streaming System

PESA, a manufacturer of audio and video distribution systems, has introduced its new compact streaming system, PESA Xstream C22.

The PESA Xstream C22 is a multi-channel, high definition, IP streaming device. It includes input/output options for standalone streaming applications, or it can integrate with a broadcast system. It also supports two-port video encoding or decoding, or one port of each. The C22 is the latest addition to the company's Xstream line of multi-channel, HD IP streaming devices, which are suitable for video-on-demand, distributed learning, massive online open courses (MOOCs) and virtual classrooms, according to the company.

AV staff can use multiple C22 units "to compress, stream and share high-quality content between locations and enable streaming in existing video distribution," according to the company. They can also use two C22 units for bi-directional content sharing, such as live interaction between sites, with one encoder to send video and another to receive. The unit's built-in Web server supports full remote operation, so personnel do not need to be on site to stream content.

Key features of the PESA Xstream C22 include:

  • HDMI, coaxial and Ethernet video inputs;
  • Optional SFP (small form-factor pluggable) modules, including fiber, HD-BNC, A-to-D, D-to-A and others;
  • Two external audio inputs that can be synchronized to single or dual video streams;
  • Built-in genlock for locking video signals to an external source;
  • HDMI out port; and
  • Integrated Web server.

The PESA Xstream C22 will be available this summer.
