Biopac Update Student Lab System with Learning Objects, Curriculum Management System

Biopac Systems has updated its Biopac Student Lab (BSL) software with new hardware integrations, lessons and features.

A life science teaching system, Biopac Student Lab features hardware, software and curriculum designed for a range of practical experiments. The newest version, 4.1, adds customizable learning objects and a curriculum management system designed to allow teachers to customize lessons using a drag-and-drop interface.

Designed to improve student engagement, "BSL 4.1 contains over 65 experiments where students record from their own bodies, animals or tissue preparations," according to a news release. "BSL 4.1 improves students' lab experience with guided lessons containing onscreen instructions, 'smart' transducers and electrodes, video demos and sample data. New Dropbox integration now allows students to bring their work home by accessing their lab files from their own computer."

"The new BSL update is our way of showing that we have taken our customers' requests to heart," said Biopac CEO Frazer Findlay, in a prepared statement. "Our most important goal has always been increased educator control and BSL 4.1 increases that more than ever before."
