University College Birmingham Adopts Digital Asset Management

University College Birmingham (UCB) has deployed a new tool to manage its digital assets.

The university has digital assets numbering in the thousands and spread among various departments. With no system in place, the institution was wasting time and money each time an asset needed to be found or shared.

UCB deployed Extensis Portfolio to centralize its entire collection, catalog and tag assets for easy location and create an inventory to reveal any areas in need of updating. The university also adopted Portfolio NetPublish to help create Web pages for easy sharing of assets.

Other institutions using Extensis Portfolio include Baylor University, Harvard Law School and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
