StraighterLine Launches 2 New Distance Courses

StraighterLine has released two new online courses for higher ed, IT Fundamentals and Survey of World History.

Each three-credit course has received credit recommendation from the American Council on Education, as are all StraighterLine courses.

"Students can transfer low-cost college credits earned from StraighterLine to their degree program, and students can also earn tuition discounts at willing colleges through StraighterLine's Scholarship program — saving up to 60 percent on the cost of their degree," said Burck Smith, StraighterLine CEO and founder, in a prepared statement. "Our partner colleges love it because these transferring students are more likely to persist to a degree than the rest of their students."

StraighterLine courses cost $99 each with a membership and are available to begin the same day a student signs up. More information about the company's courses is available at straighterline.com.
