Susquehanna U Deploys Cross-Departmental Media Library
Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania has implemented cloud-based digital asset management
software (DAMS) to help staff manage the university's large photo
library and share media assets between departments.
Prior to the
upgrade, the university had been using an on-premises system, but staff
were finding it increasingly difficult to search for and access photos
when and where they needed them. In collaboration with the university's
IT team, the Marketing and Communications Department evaluated various
digital asset management vendors. Their search led them to MediaValet.
MediaValet
lets organizations aggregate all of their photos, videos, graphics,
audio files and marketing documents in a central media library in the
cloud. Individuals can browse through the category listings to find a
specific asset. Alternatively, they can search, sort or filter assets
according to parameters such as keyword, approval status, type or date.
Staff can preview the media and its associated information before
downloading. They can also upload new media files using a drag-and-drop
interface and download files individually or in batches. The system is
"built exclusively on Microsoft Azure and available on 26 highly secure
and hyper scalable data centers around the world," according to
information from MediaValet.
The university is using MediaValet
as a cross-departmental collaboration tool. Staff in all departments
can now access the university's digital media library through the
online interface, so they can securely access, download and share
assets from any location.
Susquehanna University is a private
liberal arts university located in Selinsgrove, PA. It serves 2,200
students and employs 133 full-time faculty members.
