Smartdesks Debuts Combination Mobile Sit-Stand Conference Table Component

Smartdesks has introduced a new conference table component that will allow an individual to use it sitting or standing. At the same time, it can be used as a desk for a single student or as part of a conference table.

The Quark2 sit-stand mobile collaborative learning conference table is the most recent iteration of the company's computer classroom furniture.

Designed to give the look of a swiftly moving shuttlecraft, the Quark2 component rides on five lockable casters, meaning it can be moved from place to place and locked in one position when required. The support column is adjustable with 12 increments using a ratchet adjustment. When used for sitting, it can be adjusted to as low as 30.375 inches high and, when used while standing, it can be adjusted to as high as 39.875 inches.

The work surface measures 35 inches across and 33 inches deep. It has an optional laptop port with two USB and one power outlet permanently mounted.

The Quark2 can be used as a stand-alone desk or in more than one configuration with others. It can be docked along a wall so that a number of students can either sit or stand next to one another as they work. Likewise, it can be docked with a conference table unit that can allow as many as five people to join in a discussion. Typically, in that case, up to four people would sit while the fifth would be able to stand and lead the discussion.
