Cengage Announces Subscription Plan
Cengage today introduced Cengage Unlimited, a subscription plan that provides unlimited access to the company's digital course materials for a fixed per-semester price.
Launching in August 2018, the program will offer students access to more than 20,000 products across 70 disciplines and 675-plus courses, including the company's digital learning platforms MindTap and WebAssign. In addition, users will have the option of free print textbook rentals.
"With Cengage Unlimited, students finally have an alternative to the traditional and costly approach of paying for each course's materials individually. We are taking unprecedented action to break down cost barriers and end the cycle of students having to choose between course materials they can afford and the results they want," commented Cengage CEO Michael Hansen in a prepared statement.
Subscriptions are priced at $119.99 per semester. Cengage plans to make the subscriptions available via on-campus and off-campus bookstores as well as online retailers, according to a news release. When a subscription ends, the user will retain "reference access" to his or her course materials free for one year.
