Microsoft Teams Adds New Data Insights for Education

Microsoft is expanding the features of the Education Insights app in its Teams collaboration platform. The Insights dashboard will now offer new views of student engagement data, aimed at helping educators better understand how remote learning approaches are working. Data can span entire institutions, districts and systems.

Among the new capabilities:

  • Tracking student engagement over time;
  • Identifying trends in engagement and interaction across schools and grade levels;
  • Sharing best practices in remote instruction; and
  • Reporting with one-click data export.

All Education Insights reporting functions comply with more than 90 regulatory and industry standards, including GDPR and the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), according to the company.
