Two Is Better Than One

Following extensive research and development investments, Desire2Learn, enterprise learning systems provider, has launched new versions for two of its products: Desire2Learn Learning Platform 7.4 and Desire2Learn Learning Object Repository 3.1. Platform is a suite of teaching and learning tools for course development, delivery, assessment, communication, and learning management. With it, say spokespeople, educators can impact learning outcomes and effectively deliver a high-quality, learner-centric learning environment where students can excel--scalable from a single department to an entire university system. Repository is a fully integrated, standards-based, true learning-object repository that enables instructors to store, share, and track learning objects, and can also capture, reuse, and manage content across multiple programs, courses, and sections. Pricing varies and is based on number of users/learners.

Double the Projector

Sanyo's presentation technologies division has announced the addition of two new projectors: PLC-EF60, a 5800-lumens, SXGA+, 1400x1050 pixel projector, and PLC-XF60, a 6500-lumens, XGA, 1024x768 pixel projector. Both projectors are capable of performing in various-size venues because they can be double-stacked, shifted, vertically mounted, warped, multi-projector blended, networked, and linked in many ways--all while being controlled by Sanyo's newest RF (no IR remote here) touch-pad-equipped remote control. MSRPs are $29,995 for the PLC-EF60; $19,995 for the PLC-XF60.

Pop Quiz

Testing and assessment software provider Questionmark has released version 4.0 of Perception, its assessment management system that enables educators and trainers to create, deliver, and report on surveys, quizzes, tests, and exams. Perception now includes a drag-and-drop interface, multiple levels of security, a workflow management module, cascading style sheets, and WYSIWYG HTML editing. Pricing is based on number of participants and authors, and starts at under $2,000.
