High-Resolution Document Camera

Lumens has announced the DC160, a portable document camera with SXGA resolution, capturing 66 percent more detail than regular XGA visual presenters. Weighing 4.85 pounds, the DC160 can be carried and moved easily with one hand. Additional features: 3X optical zoom with automatic focus; a split-screen feature, allowing users to concurrently present a real-time image with a previously captured image stored in the camera’s internal memory; and seamless switching, allowing instructors to toggle instantaneously among multiple image sources (such as files saved on a laptop). Price: $1,295.

LCD Monitors for Video Display

Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America’s Presentation Products Division is shipping its new line of LCD monitors, the 32-inch LDT321V and 37-inch LDT371V, designed for video displays and moving text in digital signage environments. LCD brightness and a 1200:1 contrast ratio provide detail and depth of image. The LDT321V and LDT371V come with their own scheduling controls for easy plan-ahead of on/off, presentation timing, and image changeovers. The monitors also offer Mitsubishi’s proprietary color adjustment for precise color control. Price for the LDT321V and LDT371V: $2,495 and $3,495, respectively.

Mobile Calendaring

In a strategic partnership with wireless mobile middleware provider Notify Technology, human process management solutions provider PeopleCube has introduced NotifyLink for Meeting Maker. NotifyLink expands mobile calendar access for PeopleCube’s Meeting Maker scheduling application, allowing users to access and manage their calendars and e-mail, create and manage tasks, and manage contacts—all from a Blackberry or other mobile device. NotifyLink is also compatible with Microsoft Outlook, allowing Outlook and Meeting Maker calendar users to collaborate. Priced per user, plus a one-time server fee.
