Palm Beach CC Deploys DocFinity Management Software

Palm Beach Community College in Florida has implemented DocFinity on its multiple campuses. DocFinity, from Optical Image Technology, is a document imaging, management, and workflow solution.

In the first phase of the implementation, Palm Beach CC installed DocFinity's imaging, digital workflow, reports/reports management, and scanning software in its registration, admissions, and financial aid departments.

Said Chuck Zettler, director of IT Project Management at Palm Beach CC, "We were intent upon finding an EDM system that suited all of our needs. Disaster recovery was a driving factor. We also needed additional space and improved efficiency."

Optical Image Technology also created a software utility for Palm Beach CC called QuickScan, which "enables student documents and information to be scanned at the point of receipt, which ensures immediate access to the scanned document (by authorized personnel) from any Web browser," according tot he company. It also allows student IDs to be scanned to fill out student information fields automatically.

In phase 2 of the implementation, the college will add DocFinity's electronic forms, barcode recognition, a print/fax server, and hierarchical storage management software, according to Optical Image Technology.

Palm Beach Community College serves roughly 47,000 students in Lake Worth, Boca Raton, Belle Glade, and Palm Beach Gardens in Florida, as well as a satellite location in West Palm Beach.
