Vanderbilt University Overhauls Admissions Systems

Vanderbilt University is replacing its legacy admissions systems with Oracle's PeopleSoft CRM solution. The Nashville, Tennessee-based university plans to use the new system to analyze admissions data and assess institutional programs.

Before this installation, Vanderbilt's data was stored in disparate systems across the university. The school needed a way to improve reporting as well as make the integration of student records and transfer of data between departments a more efficient process.

"Administering six separate admissions systems has created operational inefficiencies, prevented inter-campus collaboration and increased operating costs," said Douglas Christiansen, vice provost for enrollment and dean of admissions at Vanderbilt. "By consolidating our admissions systems with Oracle’s PeopleSoft Customer Relationship Management, and integrating it with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Warehouse and PeopleSoft Performance Management Warehouse, we can provide administrators with a comprehensive view of the institution’s admissions and scholarship procedures to accurately assess the strength of our programs and make informed business decisions."

Vanderbilt will integrate the new CRM with its existing PeopleSoft Campus Solutions Warehouse and PeopleSoft Performance Management Warehouse installations, according to a statement released Tuesday by Oracle. The university expects to complete the rollout of the undergraduate system by August 2012 and the graduate and professional systems by August 2013.
