Promethean, Boxlight Team up on Smart Classroom Bundle

Promethean and Boxlight have partnered to make Promethean's ActivInspire software available with Boxlight's ProjectoWrite and OutWrite interactive projectors.

Designed to give "educators increased choices to turn any space into a collaborative, 21st century learning center," according to a release, the agreement gives Boxlight licensing rights to sell ActivInspire to new and existing customers.

Features of ActivInspire educational authoring software include:

  • "Primary" and "Studio" interfaces for younger and older students, respectively;
  • The ability to import resources from PowerPoint, Adobe, and Smart Notebook, among others;
  • Customizable features;
  • An embedded Web browser;
  • An equation editor; and
  • Sharing via email.
  • "We are excited to be partnered with Promethean to offer their award-winning ActivInspire software coupled with our ProjectoWrite and OutWrite interactive products," said Hank Nance, Boxlight president, in a prepared statement. "ActivInspire is the most robust interactive learning software; in combination with resources available through Promethean Planet online, our customers will have access to an incredible amount of curriculum."

    "Technology alone doesn't change the classroom. Real transformation of teaching and learning starts when educators have the tools to deliver the right content at the right time to help improve student engagement and academic achievement. Our work with BOXLIGHT will help educators raise the interactivity in the classroom, but it will also help them meet students' expectations of a 21st century education," said Promethean CEO Jim Marshall.

    The partnership comes on the heels of a similar agreement between Promethean and Epson, which was launched early this month.
