University of Florida Manages 3,000 Web Sites With TerminalFour CMS

The University of Florida is unifying its 3,000 Web sites with a digital engagement and web content management platform from TerminalFour.

With more than 14,000 full-time faculty and staff, 53,000 students and 16 distinct independent colleges, the university was looking for a content management solution that could accommodate its scale and distributed web development needs. The standardization on a single platform will also provide individual colleges and departments with cost savings on licensing and hardware.

TerminalFour features responsive design capabilities, enabling the delivery of consistent messaging, brand and content across a variety of devices. Social and calendar modules provide a unified view of everything that is taking place around the university. Individual departments are able to create and publish their own web content with no technical skills required, helping distribute timely communications to students, faculty and staff across the university and freeing up the IT staff to concentrate on other technology projects.

"Academic and administrative staff tested several solutions and commented on TerminalFour's presence in — and commitment to — the higher education customer," said Elias Eldayrie, vice president and CIO at the university, in a prepared statement. "Faculty and staff recommendations, coupled with the opportunity to leverage significant savings across the university, made TerminalFour the right WCM choice for UF."
