New Jersey Institute of Technology Streamlines Grants Management

New Jersey Institute of Technology is moving its paper-based research and grants management system to the cloud. The institution will implement Vivantech's Ekualiti KC electronic research administration product for an "integrated, Web-based research administration system that supports the full lifecycle of grant proposal, award management and compliance," according to a press release.

With more than $110 million in research expenditures in 2014, NJIT has research clusters in life science and engineering, sustainable systems, data science and IT, as well as cross-disciplinary areas. In addition to serving the institution's research and grants management needs, the Ekualiti KC implementation will also integrate with the NJIT Banner Finance and HR systems, allowing administrators to manage post-award financial and personnel-related activities.

Built on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform, Ekualiti KC is based on Kuali Coeus open source software. It can be deployed via the AWS cloud or in a private cloud option through Red Hat's OpenShift technology. Other Ekualiti offerings include Ekualiti Rice with Visual Workflow for business process automation.
