Utica College Adds Online Courses from Third Party To Help Students Meet Prerequisites

Utica College has tapped a private partner in an effort to expand access for students as they complete prerequisite courses.

The college has teamed with StraighterLine, a provider of online general education courses, to allow students to fit courses they need into their schedule around work and family life.

"Utica College has partnered with StraighterLine to provide our students another option in completing their prerequisite requirements," said Jeffery Gates, Utica College vice president for student affairs and enrollment management, in a prepared statement. "This self-paced online option for students is one that is quality driven and enables students to be prepared for our academic programs."

"We're excited about this new partnership with Utica College, whose mission includes creating communities of learners on campus and beyond," said Burck Smith, StraighterLine founder and CEO, in a news release. "By making it simple to transfer credits from StraighterLine to Utica, this partnership puts the learner first."
