Cal State U Adopts Video Platform to Support Online Ed

The California State University System (CSU) has adopted a new video platform to support online teaching and learning throughout the state.

CSU's Office of the Chancellor selected ShareStream's Online Video Platform (OVP) for its ease of use, reliability in massive implementations, interoperability with third-party tools, such as learning management systems, and its track record of collaboration with other educational institutions with similar needs to CSU's.

ShareStream OVP is a turnkey media-management solution that features digital rights management, access control, a streaming app and an analytics dashboard.

"The demand for video and audio streaming is growing across CSU campuses, especially for instructional use and libraries," said JP Bayard, CSU director of systemwide learning technologies and program services, in a prepared statement. "We sought a full-featured media-management solution with extensive access control and a company that was focused on serving academic institutions to enhance teaching and learning, all of which ShareStream provides. We look forward to collaborating with ShareStream to provide its technology to CSU campuses."
