Ole Miss Adds New Program to Process International Partnerships

The University of Mississippi, with some 1,100 international partnerships, has deployed a new agreements management application from Terra Dotta Software. The program automates the processes for higher education international agreement proposals, approvals and renewals.

Agreements Management, as it's called, monitors active partnership status and publicizes global agreement activity for cross-campus engagement. It also maps other global engagement activities to highlight to users where new agreements might be formed.

According to Blair McElroy, senior international officer and director of the Study Abroad office for the university, the addition of the new software will allow the university to "expand the effectiveness and opportunities of our study abroad and international student services programs," she said in a statement. "With the solution in place, we can now centrally manage our study abroad exchange partnerships, which helps our campus better understand the nature of current programs and invite new global partnerships through our proposal process."

The institution already uses the company's Study Abroad service to manage the application and enrollment processes for those programs, as well as AlertTraveler, to reduce travel risk for the hundreds of Ole Miss students who study out of the country each year. The university also subscribes to International Student Services (ISS) to automate the application, onboarding and compliance process for its 900 international students and scholars.

"Terra Dotta has made it easy for our team to communicate with students, create questionnaires to gather information and pull the information we need for reporting," added McElroy. "And the AlertTraveler mobile app gives us peace of mind that students have access to locally relevant information on their phones and that we can reach them should a crisis overseas occur in their region of study."
