McGraw-Hill Pilot to Study On-Demand Tutoring

This fall, McGraw-Hill is launching a pilot incorporating on-demand tutoring into its digital courseware. The company partnered with online education platform TutorMe to provide tutoring support for select McGraw-Hill Connect and McGraw-Hill ALEKS products in four course areas: Anatomy and Physiology, English, Math and Accounting.

When students struggle with their coursework, the pilot program will provide access to one hour of live TutorMe tutoring for free, directly from Connect or ALEKS. TutorMe's tutors are "highly trained in the relevant subject matter to help foster deep student understanding and fluency," according to a news announcement, and available 24/7.

"We believe that all students are capable of high levels of achievement, given the right tools and resources," said Scott Virkler, chief product and operating officer for higher education at McGraw-Hill, in a statement. "With this pilot program, we'll be exploring how to get students the help they need, directly at the moment they need it — and to determine how to better serve millions of students in the future."

McGraw-Hill said it will use the pilot findings to improve the program over time.
