Perceivant Adds Courseware Access, Notifications to Mobile App

Education technology company Perceivant has updated the mobile app that works with its digital courseware. The newest version of BearTracks enables students to access courseware from the mobile application and receive push notifications.

BearTracks, which was launched in 2018, lets students interact with Perceivant courses via their iOS or Android mobile devices. That includes tracking grades and due dates, completing and submitting assignments and viewing instructional videos.

Now, they'll also be able to access and read Guided Learning content for the courseware directly from the mobile app. Their work progress is synced between the app and the web application.

Also, alerts allow students to receive push notifications about pending assignments, the addition of course announcements to the dashboard and when their grade falls below 60 percent.

"With today's new generation of on-the-go students, the newly updated mobile application provides an easier option for faculty and learners alike by arming them with better access to their courseware," said company founder and CEO Brian Rowe, in a statement. "We believe this option can improve students' engagement while delivering a more positive impact on learning outcomes."

Perceivant products have been used at Ohio State University, Kennesaw State University in Georgia and New Jersey's William Paterson University, among others.
