Coursera Brings Online Course Content to Campus

Coursera for Campus gives universities the ability to incorporate the company's online courses into their curricula.

Coursera is expanding its portfolio as an online learning platform to work with colleges and universities on campus. Coursera for Campus provides universities with content that they can integrate into their curricula as credit eligible courses and supplemental learning.

The new service is available to any university and provides access to more than 3,600 courses in a large variety of subjects including engineering, business, data science, health and arts.

Universities will be able to directly offer the company's course collections or swap out courses with new offerings. Courses from the broader Coursera catalog or courses authored by instructors can be integrated into the collections.

Faculty can publish private lessons, courses, assessments and projects for their students using the platform. Coursera for Campus has built-in sign-on capabilities, API integration, gradebooks and plagiarism detection for educators.  

"Coursera for Campus gives universities the ability to quickly respond to the demands of a rapidly changing economy. With access to content from 200 of the world's top universities and industry educators, higher education institutions can easily enhance their existing curricula with critical digital skills and author online courses to keep pace with what employers need," said Coursera CEO Jeff Maggioncalda.

Coursera for Campus was developed through pilots at more than 20 universities, including Duke University, University of Illinois and Manipal Academy of Higher Education.

"Coursera for Campus has already proven to be a valuable resource for our on-campus populations, and we look forward to using the program to engage our students beyond degree programs."

Coursera for Campus is now available on the company's website.
