Piazza Now Available in Microsoft Teams

Social learning company Piazza has launched an app within Microsoft Teams, bringing its Q&A discussion capabilities to the collaboration platform.

By downloading the Piazza Q&A app from the Microsoft AppSource store, instructors can add Piazza to their Teams environment, combining the discussion tool with Teams' video functionality and chat features. In Piazza's wiki-style Q&A, anyone can ask and answer questions in real time; instructors can use the platform to make announcements, endorse good questions and answers, solicit anonymous feedback and more.

"I am thrilled to see Piazza integrated into Microsoft Teams. Until now, there was no other app out there that provides forum functionality with Microsoft Teams. Piazza is a wonderful medium for people to share information," said Eric Edlund, assistant professor of physics at SUNY Cortland, in a statement. "I am looking forward to using this for one of my online classes, so that students can post questions about individual homework problems. You can't reasonably organize a conversation in an ordinary chat window, you need to have topics and threads, which Piazza does wonderfully."

Instructors with existing Piazza "classrooms" can access them via Teams through a single sign-on process. For more information, visit the Piazza site.
