Gonzaga, Springboard Launch Cybersecurity, Software Engineering 'Bootcamp' Programs, Focusing on Career Prep

Asynchronous Programs Include Weekly Meetings with Mentors in the Industry, Self-Paced Study, Instructor-Led Courses, Completion Certificate from Gonzaga

Springboard, an online learning platform that emphasizes mentor-student relationships, today unveiled a new partnership with Gonzaga University to deliver two online “bootcamps” to learners aiming for careers in cybersecurity and software engineering.

The bootcamps are intended to prepare students to fill high-demand jobs as information security analysts and software developers, which the Bureau of Labor Statistics projects will have many more jobs than trained workers over the next 10 years.

The university partnership is Springboard’s first of 2023 and 10th overall, according to the company. Springboard’s platform offers asynchronous e-learning designed as cohort-based, human-guided programs that combine weekly 1:1 mentorship with live and instructor-led sessions.

The curriculum for the new bootcamps is developed by industry experts, Springboard said, and those enrolled will have access to hands-on support from industry professionals as well as guidance from career coaches on finding a job in their field of study.

The new Cybersecurity Bootcamp through Gonzaga will include 360 hours of coursework covering industry fundamentals, systems and network security, vulnerability assessment, and security operations, followed by a capstone project designed to showcase specialized skills to potential employers, Springboard said.

The Software Engineering Bootcamp through Gonzaga will cover key aspects of front-end web development, back-end web development, databases, and data structures and algorithms; it includes two capstone projects.

The two programs are open to all learners, according to the announcement, and no previous industry or academic experience is required to enroll. Those who complete the program will receive a certificate from Gonzaga University.

Enrollment for the Cybersecurity and Software Engineering Bootcamps is now open, with classes scheduled to begin on March 13, 2023. Learn more at careerbootcamps.gonzaga.edu.
