Snowflake Launches Program to Upskill 100,000 People in Data and AI

Cloud data platform Snowflake is embarking on an effort to train and certify more than 100,000 users on its AI Data Cloud by 2027. The One Million Minds + One Platform program will provide Snowflake-delivered courses, training materials, and free access to Snowflake software, at no cost to learners.

The program will upskill learners on two fronts: Snowflake for Academia, focused on students and educators, and Snowflake Platform Trainings, designed for workers in high-growth and emerging markets looking to accelerate their knowledge with the AI Data Cloud.

  • In addition to free training materials for students, Snowflake for Academia includes enablement courses for educators to prepare them to teach Snowflake in the classroom. Once certified on the platform, educators receive curriculum materials and Academia Lab access for a full semester at no cost.
  • In Snowflake Platform Trainings, a Snowflake-certified instructor leads a step-by-step introductory course that takes participants through the AI Data Cloud architecture and provides the hands-on experience in topics such as data warehousing, data lakes, data engineering, AI/ML, data applications, and data sharing. Participants who complete the course can achieve certification by successfully completing the SnowPro Platform Associate Certification, available starting in February 2025.

"This requires that AI must not only be accessible for users at every skill level, but that users also have knowledge of how these applications work across the data lifecycle, as well as how to best engage with them. Through our investment, Snowflake is giving academic institutions and workers in regions around the world the tools and training to build successful careers as the technologists and founders of tomorrow."
