Columbia University is working with a higher education technology company to co-develop a replacement for its student information system. Under the arrangement, Columbia will be working with Unifyed to produce what has been branded as Unifyed SIS and already made available — in part — to other institutions.

Research and advisory company Gartner recently released its latest "Hype Cycle" analyzing emerging technologies that "show promise in delivering a high degree of competitive advantage over the next five to 10 years."
