Colorado State Launches New Online School

Colorado State University has selected Campus Management Corp. to provide the infrastructure for its new online campus, known as CSU-Global Campus. The technology the Ft. Collins campus will use includes CampusVue, a student information system, and CampusPortal, an integrated, configurable Web site software.

The Campus Management platform integrates with Blackboard's learning management system. CSU-Global Campus supports a non-traditional approach to higher education with flexible terms and an online enrollment process. The online structure enables students to participate in the entire degree process online--from application and enrollment, course selection, financial aid, to interaction with faculty and advisors.

CSU selected the software from Campus Management following a competitive bidding process. CSU-Global Campus will be its own enterprise, with its own faculty and staff. Its inaugural semester begins September 1, 2008. The program will offer degree and certificate programs as well as individual courses. The programs will be offered at guaranteed rates, meaning that the price for courses will remain the same from the beginning of a student's program to completion. Students who enroll for the September term will receive special incentive scholarships to further reduce students' costs.

Campus Management said in a statement that it has about 1,100 colleges and universities as customers, including Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA; Jacksonville State University in Alabama; and Santa Barbara Business College in California.
