Georgia Virtual Tech Moves to Angel LMS for Web-based Instruction

Georgia Virtual Technical College has selected the
Angel Learning Management Suite (LMS) as the platform for its portal to deliver Web-based instruction to Georgia's 33 technical colleges and one Board of Regents college.
Features unique to the Angel LMS and the company's support were pivotal to the Georgia Virtual Tech decision to switch from the system it originally licensed to the new platform, the school said in a statement. Georgia Virtual Tech and Angel worked together over a two-week period to migrate 5,000 courses to the LMS, activate 81,000 enrollments, and create integrations for each of the 33 technical college's Student Information Systems and the Angel LMS.
"Angel Learning is the best fit for our students, instructors and coordinators because [it] provides us with the latest in learning management system technology as well as an extremely proactive technical support team that manages our implementation issues very expediently," said Cathy Brock, director. "In addition, our instructors are extremely excited about the added features and functionality that are now accessible to them and their students."
Georgia Virtual Tech is the electronic clearinghouse for all Web-based instruction offered through the Technical College System of Georgia's technical colleges. It provides students with a central point of reference for programs and courses, technical support, and student services and offers both online courses that don't require on-campus class time and hybrid courses that are split between traditional face-to-face and online class time.
