NEC Launches Stackable Installation Projectors


The NP3250W

NEC recently introduced four new LCD-based installation projectors in its NP series. The models are stackable, allowing them to overlap images and project a combined total of 20,000 lumens.

The new models include the NP3250, NP3250W, NP2250, and NP1250, all of which feature stacking capabilities (with stacking correction) for combining images from multiple projections. The NP3250W offers a WXGA resolution of 1,280 x 800, a brightness of 4,000 lumens, and a contrast ratio of 500:1. The other models all offer XGA resolution (1,024 x 768) and a contrast ratio of 600:1. The NP3250 sports a brightness of 5,000 lumens; the NP2250 has a brightness of 4,200 lumens; and the NP1250 has a brightness of 3,700 lumens.

Other features include:

  • Wired and wireless networking capabilities;
  • 2,000-hour lamp life (3,000 in economy mode);
  • ±30 degree vertical keystone correction and ±40 degrees horizontal keystone correction;
  • DVI, BNC, and 15-pin R GB connectors;
  • 5 watt stereo audio;
  • RS-232 and IR for control;
  • 802.11b/g wireless with optional card;
  • Wired networking through RJ-45;
  • One-touch image optimization;
  • "3D Reform" for squaring an image;
  • Built-in surface color correction; and
  • Computer-free presentations via USB and PCMCIA;
  • Direct power off; and
  • 64-step image magnification.

All of the new models are shipping this month. The NP3250 and NP3250W sell for $3,999; the NP2250 sells for $3,499; and the NP1250 sells for $2,999. Further information can be found here.
