Epson Debuts 2 Mid Sized Classroom Projectors

Epson has announced two new projectors especially optimized for mid-sized classrooms. The PowerLite 1830 and 1915 offer a variety of connectivity options and features designed to enhance presentations.

The projectors offer content over IP with Epson's EasyMP network technology for remote access, monitoring, and control of projectors over the network. They incorporate 3LCD technology and come with XGA resolution (1,024 x 768 pixels). The two projectors feature USB connectivity and setup, allowing the projectors to project images instantly from a Windows-based system.

The two models are differentiated by brightness and connectivity. The PowerLite 1915 (4,000 lumens, $1,899) comes with HDMI connectivity, built-in wireless, PC-free presentation capabilities, and Screen Fit (an auto-sensing feature that intuitively sets up the appropriate screen size, keystone and focus). The PowerLite 1830 ($1,349) features a brightness of 3,500 lumens.

Other features include:

  • Message Broadcasting, allowing the projectors to be used as part of a broadcast system to show customized images and alerts over the network for announcements or instructions;
  • Network monitoring and control with RJ-45 wired LAN connectivity;
  • Built-in 10W speaker;
  • Closed captioning decoder for accessibility;
  • Instant on/off;
  • A/V mute s Slide for instantly turning off the sound and images; and
  • 1.6x manual zoom.

The PowerLite 1915 runs $1,899. The PowerLite 1830 sells for $1,349. Further information can be found here.
