Classroom equipment maker Elmo USA has rolled out a new classroom AV cart that combines a projector, document camera, and several other interactive presentation tools into a single mobile unit. In addition to the cart, Elmo has also introduced a new classroom AV switcher that operates off RS-232 and infrared.
The new CRC-1 switcher can remotely power on or turn off devices and adjust both the image and audio settings of AV equipment. It offers a scroll wheel; four buttons for manipulating projector settings, three buttons for volume control; and three buttons for switching between computer, document camera, and video inputs.
Features of the switcher include:
- An RS-232 command library with preprogrammed commands for projectors from nine different manufacturers;
- An infrared learning function that copies IR signals from other remotes; and
- Ports for multiple video sources, audio in, audio out, microphone, and RS-232.
Elmo's classroom AV cart, the CRT-1, combines a document camera, projector, wireless tablet, switcher, and a mobile cart. The mobile cart itself features a locking front panel, two locking drawers, and wheels. It measures 37.25" (H) x 27.75" (D) x 24.75" (W).
AV equipment bundled with the cart includes:
- Elmo's TT-02RX document camera;
- The CRP-221 projector;
- The CRA-1 wireless tablet;
- The CRC-1 switcher;
- A 25 watt amplifier; and
- Two 5-inch speakers.
The CRT-1 classroom AV cart ships with everything included for $3,499 or without the projector for $2,750. The CRC-1 switcher is currently available for $449.
