Digital Media Room Controller Adds Video Scaling, Audio Amplification

Crestron has debuted an AV receiver and room controller that scales video, amplifies audio, and offers room control capabilities as part of its Digital Media line of AV networking devices.

The updated receiver, DM-RMC-200-C, accepts HDMI video signals over twisted pair cable and automatically scales them to match the native resolution of a connected display. With the ability accept high resolution 3D video signals and convert them to 2D signals scaled to resolutions that bottom out at 640 x 480, the receiver can aid the connection of multiple disparate displays to a single video source.

Supported input resolutions include progressive resolutions up to 2,048 x 1,152 at 60 Hz and interlaced resolutions up to 1,920 x 1,080 at 30 Hz. The receiver outputs progressive resolutions ranging from 640 x 480 at 60 Hz to 1,920 x 1,200 at 60 Hz and interlaced resolutions ranging from 720 x 480 at 30 Hz to 1,920 x 1,080 at 30 Hz.

For connecting audio signals to external speakers, the receiver offers a 30 watt amplifier, multiple analog audio outputs, and a digital to analog conversion rate of 24-bit, 48 kHz.

The DM-RMC-200-C ships with wired LAN capabilities and the ability to control AV devices through multiple IR connections, RS-232, and the CEC control standard.

Other features include content adaptive noise reduction, EDID compatibility, KVM extension, and a zoom capability that enables support for video walls composed of a maximum of 16 displays.

Ports include two relay control ports; dual two-pin, 3.5 mm DIG in ports; HDMI out; two IR outputs; USB HID; RS-232; RCA audio out; four 5 mm audio out ports; and RJ-45.
